The purpose of this policy is to outline the data that is used and shared by Amethyst Hosting and clients, in addition to the data collected by users who visit the site without registering or purchasing a product. In this agreement, "you" and "your" refers to you as an individual visiting the Amethyst Hosting site. "client" or "user" will refer to any individual who has or has previously had a product or service with Amethyst Hosting. A "product" or "service" will refer to any purchasable item, whether physical or digital, listed on the Amethyst Hosting website or other assets, where a payment is made and/or managed by Amethyst Hosting. "We", "us", "our" and "Amethyst Hosting" will refer to Amethyst Hosting LTD, Company Number 13831250, registered as a limited liability company within the United Kingdom. Our Information Commissioner's Office number is ZB287820.

  1. YOUR AGREEMENT: By visiting our website, you agree to the privacy policy as published at the time of your first visit. We are a business registered in the United Kingdom ("UK"), therefore, all data protection regulations will be based on the Great British Legislation. This is the 1998 Data Protection Act. Despite this, the 2018 General Data Protection Regulation and the United States Online Privacy Protect Act will be considered.
  2. CHANGES TO THIS AGREEMENT: This agreement may change over time, either through amendments by us, third parties, or any applicable laws. We will notify you of such changes by, for example, sending an email to you at the email address on record, or by posting the changes on our website. If, as a result, you no longer agree with the privacy policy, you must contact us immediately via email at hello@amethysthosting.co.uk with a clear subject. Changes to the agreement will be effective immediately if changes are due to applicable law. Otherwise, changes will be effective on the next visit to the website, or after 30 days, if you do not visit the website before then.
  3. YOUR ACCOUNT: As a client, an account must be created in order to maintain and manage your products. You are responsible for the security of your account by maintaining, securing, updating and keeping strictly confidental login IDs and passwords. If you give another individual access to your account, you are responsible for any changes they make and any data they access.
  4. WHY WE COLLECT INFORMATION: Amethyst Hosting collects information about you. As a client: Amethyst Hosting needs to collect information to provide services and the registration of domains. Additionally, we collect information of visitors to help improve our website and accessibility options. And finally, we collect your data to provide support of users and guests that ar4e not registered and share informtation internally to ensure that issues are resolved quickly and as effectively as possible.
  5. SHARING OF DATA: THe sharing of data will only occur where it is necessary for individuals who work for Amethyst Hosting or automated systems to be able to complete their work sucessfully and effectively. Sharing of data is done with your consent as outlined within this agreement. Any data that is shared amongst these services have clear descriptions to what details they include and why they are shared. If we have to share any data that is stored on your acount with any other party for any reason necesarry, we will always contact you to gain your consent before doing so. Consent is explicit, requiring an individual to say yes before this is done.
    • Google LLC ("Google")
      1. Google and it's services are used to provide our employees with the necessary equipoment to be able to work at a high standard where adata can be stored securely.
      2. Google's Drive is used for many reasons throughout Amethyst Hosting, including the writing of reports, statements or incidents that occur internally which may or may not include the names or information of our clients.
      3. Google's Analytics are used to gain information about visitors on the website so that we can use this information to improve our site and services.
      4. Google's Workspace, previously named gSuite, is used for sending and receiving emails via Google Mail ("Gmail"), which stores the email addresses and contents of any individual choosing to contact us. Google Mail may also be used to share information internally between other employees which contain as limited personal information as possible. Google Mail will never be used to transfer information externally.

      1. Data will be shared with the ICANN where necessary to provide clients who purcahse domain names with the information requied to do so. We do our best to provide a privacy service on the WHOIS protocol where applicable so that information is not made available to the public.

    • Let's Encrypt
      1. Let's Encrypt is a service that we use to secure your domains via your website hosting.
      2. We only give Let's Encrypt access to the information that is necessary to secure your domain.

    • PointSphere
      1. PointSphere is an optional service that a client can use to earn points and rewards when they purchase a product with us.
      2. None of your account data is accessed by PointSphere unless you have linked your PointSphere Card Number to your account.
      3. If a Card Number is linked to your account, the only data that will be transferred will be:
        1. The PointSphere Card Number, for Identification Purposes;
        2. The SubTotal of the invoice, to assign the correct amount of points to the account; and
        3. The Invoice Number, for tracking purposes in the case of a refund or dispute in points.
      4. Other than the articles listed in iii, no other data can be read or accessed from Amethyst Hosting by PointSphere.
      5. A PointSphere account is required to use this service, and will be subject to the PointSphere Privacy Policy.

  6. WHY WE SHARE DATA: Amethyst Hosting shares data with third parties to ensure that the necessary individuals can commit and complete their job and automation tasks can be performed. If we ask you to share data beyond what is outlined here, this will often be due to a very unique case, and your consent will always be gained and explained to you.
  7. ACCESSING YOUR DATA: Any data that is stored or managed by Amethyst Hosting can be accessed at anytime providing you have an account with us. The reason you require an account is becuase any other information is non-specific and does not contain an identifiable key. If you have an account, you can either contact us at hello@amethysthosting.co.uk where you can request to see your information. Otherwise, you can login to your account and view, edit or delete any information that is out of date or not required to be stored.
  8. DELETION YOUR PERSONAL DATA: Every client who uses the Amethyst Hosting website reserves the right to have their data removed, however, if they are a client who is still using our services, in order to have their data removed, they must no longer be using any of our serivces. This is because our products require your personal information in order for you to access, alter and manage your service. Additionally, some products, like domains, require your personal information in order to be registered. If you wish for your personal data to be removed immediately, this will mean that all of your existing services and domains will be deleted or transferred to the possession of Amethyst Hosting LTD without refund. Additionally, any data, including files you upload, will be removed from the service and is a process that can not be undone.
  9. COLLECTION OF DATA OF AN INDIVDUAL AGED 13 YEARS OR YOUGNER: Amethyst Hosting do not knowingly collect information from an individual that is aged 13 or younger. Our services are paid for monthly which implies the involvment of a parental figure or other legal guardian before registering for the site. We do not collect a date of birth from individuals, however, in the case that an individual is aged 13 or younger is found to be registered on our site, we will take appropriate action within 30 days to have the data removed, or replaced with that of a parental figure. This may be done via an email, text message or even a letter to the registered address. If an individual is aged under 13, their data will be deleted following the DELETION OF PERSONAL DATA clause in this privacy policy.
